The co-director of NG3 and sole director of NG3RE literally saved team ninja, as he was the director for Nioh 1 and 2, even doubled as producer for 2 and is the head of the entire company now iirc. Pretty sure the guy who was behind OG NG3 still works there too.

NG3 was a misstep but so was NG2 (if you aren't retarded). Since then Team Ninja has proven themselves to be extremely extremely competent and are one of the few developers who are actually trying to push stuff forward and create new ideas. I went and checked credits just to make sure and with NG2 Itagaki took the co-producer and the 2 co-directors with him along with various other people and they clearly were not that important to Team Ninja because they've come out with far better designed combat systems and enemy design. Itagaki has completely failed everyone he took with Team Ninja as their credits are as expected, devils turd and wanted dead which are absolute trash fire games that lack ambition and innovation. He's completely failed the team that followed him after NG2.
