RTU officers make the most hilariously mind bogglingly dumb decisions on a pretty regular basis. One that comes to mind is when the entire OPFOR tank company was dug in watching a fairly major intersection at a notional river crossing (read: admin/civilian MSR that runs through the training area)
There are multiple other options to cross this river at other crossing points to the north and south. Yet the BLUFOR commander decided to fully commit the majority of his maneuver forces to this crossing which we had filled with pre plots for IDF, obstacles, mines, scores of different battle positions for our tanks, etc
Suffice to say, BLUFOR suffered 90% loses. They easily could've gone north or south but instead went for the biggest crossing on the map. Ripperoni.
Also the one time a BN XO on the BLUFOR side got shot by his own sentries for thinking he was immune to providing a password at night when he was given the challenge.
I love being OPFOR.
