Like a guy said in this thread a while ago, the satanists would burn themselves out. All of AWD would. They're too violent and unstable, even if you ignore the nuclear holocaust, to survive past player intervention.
This whole path is trying to build a system that CAN keep going. Or keep going for enough time to ruin most of the world in a deeper way than the AWD can. Considering that every metric except Army Professionalism and Industrial Development keeps going down, I assume eventually the machine will run out of juice with how 2% of the entire population dies every month from the Great Reset modifier and how there's less and less food.
Ironically this reminds me of a Dwarf Fortress mod's story.
Unrelated, but it's really cool how they used Carmen as an inspiration with how the events during Catharsis are written. Really didn't expect it.
