Did this remodel of a small house recently. Lots of rotten and just fucked up shit so basically every wall was temporarily supported, removed and then reframed. Measured each stud with the laser measure which kept all the cuts really clean and it's quicker than using a tape. Today I put these 4x6 trusses up. They have different sized notched on either side because the floor is 2" out of level over about 14 feet, but now the trusses can sit level. Used the laser measure to measure the inside distance (notch to notch) then used it again to measure the total length (outside to outside of top plates). Obviously every truss was slightly different because it's an old fucked up house. If I didn't have the laser measure I would have had to have my helper stand on the other side of the room, stretch my tape out and manually measure each distance. Would have taken about double the time and been less accurate at the end of the day. Just showing a real life scenario in which the laser measure is useful. It's got a permanent spot in my tool bags.
