I think the game population isn't numerous enough nor do we have dedicated old farts since the IP is too new to worry about people leaving due to being afraid of change. Most have left already, all we have are autists and addicts like me, who like the general feel of the gameplay and fluff. Oh and a secreter playtest exists so the testing part won't be hurt anyway.
Whats the worst part that can happen? Newbies won't pickup the new harder game? Ridiculous. Old guard complaining the game is no longer the one they originally saw and felt in love with, like their ex? Please.
