The only huge streamer that I'm aware of touching Deadlock was Northernlion and it was around the time the media embargo got lifted and the game was a little less exclusive than it is now. Instead of constantly deferring damage, make bloodletting store 10% of damage recently taken for healing with the active, and give it cheat death's effect but without the antiheal. That way he can still get out of a situation alive once, but it doesn't feel like you're doing less damage to him and putting the passive on cooldown is immediately visually obvious.

which one of those drooling retards at valve thought it was a good idea to introduce this parry based item but just not fix their janky ass parry system at all

took me a while to really understand why the game feels like a boring chore (even when winning) and it's due to the hero abilities being lopsided in how much brain power it takes to execute something. Seven has remained the albatross of this game for over a year now. Initially, people handwaved Seven away as noobs not buying counters or playing badly, but even in the top ranks, people are starting to get somewhat sick of him. It's the amount of work you have to do to shut him down; that amount of work can be stressful and easy to screw up against the enemy team that's at your skill level, aware of what you want to do to shut the Seven down, and prevent you from doing that.

On Seven's end, the hero can be played on autopilot. His ult requires waiting until everyone else gets into the fight, then you press R, but otherwise it seamlessly translates to damage and teamfight control. You're probably higher soul count than the enemy team, due to how stupidly fast you farm. Because you farm quickly, you can shove lanes and force enemies trying to gank you to be close to a walker, and nearby the enemy team. And if the gank fizzles out? You can quickly farm again. This isn't to mention that Seven himself can be scary 1v1 if he upgrades his gun. He can not build around his ult, yet his ult still makes him require attention.

It's not a good position for the game to be in, where a dumb hero is also the strongest hero, and it stay this way for roughly a year

To juxtapose, look at Viscous. Some minority of players will absolutely love the stress of juggling movement, skillshots, blahblah, but there's only so many easy heroes to go around, and some people are going to be stuck with the equivalent of Meepo. Maybe as more heroes are added, the problem will be lessened, but it still exists. About half of the cast requires timing and hand eye coordination just to bring value out of their hero, and this is before you start asking if their macro game is good. On that, a lot of these heroes have weaker macro games compared to Seven, Infernus, etc

Grey Talon has been stuck eating shit for a while now, and he has little going for him in what he can actually do. He can ult from across the map giving him presence, but besides that, not much. Spamming charge shot is only good if you're already winning, it doesn't let you claw out of a bad match. Can't farm with it too fast, either. And that's kind of the crux of the issue; about half of the roster has meh abilities that can't do that much, and/or abilities that require fluency in poking a keyboard just to squeeze what potential value they can. The game is a lot of fun, but it's been a year, and I personally feel that hero ability reworks should have been the focus, not balance, not lanes, not the item shop.

warden - initiating ult, usually requires good timing. single target lockdown/makes them gtfo or eat shit.

infernus - muh DPS hypercarry, mixed weapon/spirit damage, strong initating ult, stupid dash more or less does everything

wraith - best gtfo ability in the game, single target lockdown ult, best rat/farmer in the game

haze - goes invis, snowballs hard, has the best pick potential out of the rest, really oppressive if she's good and ult can shutdown games

again, they are basic...because they are the basic gun characters in the base roster. new characters we're getting are just filling out the basic archetypes, frank is a new diving tank, vampirebat is a QOP spirit burster, slork is another flavor of assassin, etc
