Just like with the Wii U, the Gamecube had most of the classics of its era. Super Smash Bros Melee is the most played game of the 2000s this decade, like it or not. Well, that is unless you count World of Warcraft Classic and Retail combined as the same game.
The games people actually go back to replay are mostly from the Gamecube, or are multiplat like San Andreas or Okami. Despite it selling poorly at the time, the Gamecube won in the long run because it had more good games than the competition. No one is pining to replay Madden '04, Guitar Hero II, Pro Evolution Soccer III, or WWE SmackDown! vs. Raw 2006, but I know for a fact that people still replay Paper Mario TTYD, Metroid Prime 1/2, SSB Melee, Mario Kart Double Dash, Super Mario Sunshine, LoZ Wind Waker, F-Zero GX, Mario Retardy 4 - 7, Luigi's Mansion, Pikmin 1, and Pikmin 2.
