I really would recommend you guys go back and read about love. Start with basic research about platonic love and fraternal love and then read C.S. Lewis' "The Four Loves." Then go beyond that and read some history of male-male affectionalism (Ibson's "Picturing Men" would be a good start as it debunks the 'lone cowboy' myth).
