while I still believe that your irl habits reflect in your gaming habits (for instance if you try to become very good at something irl you are also more likely to grind a game to top scoreboards) I would say wot is the worst game where you can apply this due to +-25 and possible EOMM just like in cod and that instead of 4 you have 14 other idiots in your team, the competitive scene is pretty much dead when compared to other games
there's also a fine line between becoming good and playing due to sunk cost fallacy, countless hours aside some people invested substantial amounts of money in the game

to each their own but ultimately if you are good you will get more enjoyment out of it and this is true to any online game whether people like to admit this or not, most new players are not concerned with stats initially but eventually they will start to care about that shit
