Us techbros don't have a monopoly on AI, artists are free to use it just as they would MS Paint or Photoshop. Hell, they could even locally train a model on their own style, never release it, and use it to assist their own workflow, editing outputs to suit their needs.
In fact, that's what one guy does already, to immense success (sans the not releasing his own style part)
