I could see Phantasm making a comeback in some fashion. Make an entire explorable township with the Tall Man and his cohorts being a threat that radiates out from the funeral home. The objective is to plumb the depths of his lair, evading or disabling enemies until you reach the heart of his Other World and disable the device that allows him in.
