I just realized something about Lucy in Strive and how her apparent travel through the Backyard may be important. Specifically when she points out how she's able to hack someone without any chrome. Since Lucy is a Netrunner who's able to regullarly hack Chrome that's embedded into people, it's possible that her hacking of the Strive characters may be her tapping into the Backyard itself. Specifically through her apparent connection to it with her travel. The main question is how her tech is doing this, as it may be considered magic in and of itself. As remember the saying, "Any sufficently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic". And since hers may not count as 'Black Technology', I believe this may be the case.

In other words, Lucy may be directly tapping into the source code of the Backyard to hack organic people.
