Dess, Kris, Noelle, and Asriel all got fucking FRIED by whatever fucked up incident happened. Dess got scrunched into the Knight, Kris needed art therapy, Noelle is... Noelle (insane), and Asriel got the fuck out of town.
We don't really know what motives the Knight/Kris have but they for sure took a LOT of SAN loss.
