I had a passing conversation with some people who liked a shirt I have with the words "Autistic Virgin" on it. Fan gear from the Youtuber Neo Punk FM's shop. Another day, I spoke with someone while waiting in line for a ticketed show. Nothing really happened, though. You either force the conversation and scare them off or it just fizzles and they go back to their pre existing friends.
