I used to shitpost about this calling the model kit out of scale. Comparing the model kit to the lineart and using the head as a reference to make sure the two images are scaled properly, I think the difference is the hip joint placement and not the rifle being longer in the lineart. No idea if this was somewhat of a redesign or mechanical limitations preventing the kit from matching the proportions of the lineart.
