>but why? Connie could be doing grad school and still fit as a college student, and Bobby specifically skipped college.
Because King of the Hill is not that bleak. It has never been a show about realism. Someone earlier in this very thread mentioned a pressure release valve and I believe that describes the show perfectly. In the vacuum of television sitcoms where the writing team is inevitably part of "show business" and thus populated pretty much exclusively by jewish democrats and their nepo tribe hires KOTH was just an obligatory "Okay you white fly-over retards, here is the share we have to give you to not make it obvious we're evil kikes!" show. What this means is a middle-aged man walks around and sighs at the ridiculous direction his society is taking, and then takes absolutely no measures to stop it before things get awful.

Well things got awful and everyone is miserable, and if you put a spotlight on that you'd reach a pretty simple conclusion: people like Hank Hill were always worthless. If the timeline was not adjusted, Bobby Hill would be a thirty-something millennial and statistically speaking would not own a business. He would probably still be living with his parents, and would probably dread returning to the USA because in Saudi Arabia he'd be better off unironically, despite that place being a shallow backwards shithole. Ironically Connie would be what she is now, a stupid spoiled whore who resents her parents and lashes out by having sex with strangers. The only difference is she'd have a big blown-out pussy and probably wouldn't humor fatass Bobby, especially if he wasn't stacking dollars for her to summarily rob him of in exchange for sex.

There's a lot a sitcom could criticize. You will never see any of it on KOTH. This is not a show that provides trenchant, insightful societal commentary nor satire. It's about Hank Hill walking around and sighing at drag queens and iPads.
