Yaegirs you have to either sit at range and blast them from afar or out melee them....and honestly its not THAT hard to out melee them...
Tough Survivalist really only works once a turn so double team a dorf who has used his already. Yes Plasma Knifes can be annoying. And stay away from engaging any dorfs near their Fallen Kin marker.
