The story isn't great, but it's well written. Many of the players are playing the game primarily for the story and writing. If you can stand extremely verbose stunted archaic English, you might enjoy it. It's standard Final Fantasy. There's evil magic space wizards who are trying to destroy the universe. Your character joins the "Scions of the Seventh Dawn" to stop the nebulous adversaries who are trapesing around the world sewing chaos and destruction. There are many story arcs contained within the overall story and they have mixed receptions. Some people love the Ala Migho arc, others hate it. The intricacies of the small scale stories tend to make up for the lack of depth in the main one.
