Please. You think Bushnell wouldn't have pushed Atari even harder without Nintendo in the way? There still would have been 80s video games they'd just be janky blocky Atari 7800 crap because Atari was focused on quantity over quality.
Who knows? Maybe laserdisc games like Dragon's Lair would have become more popular. Maybe we'd have all been playing click-the-arrow with primitive DVDs instead of platforming. That might have become gaming.
