Scientifically speaking female just means the biological sex capable of producing offspring (simplified) and we've already been made well aware that the big bad necromancer has produced many such larvae. The question would be: what form do the males take? In setups like this, usually the males are relatively short lived and basically only exist to fertilize the eggs. Necromancers could be similar to ants.
