Actually, what made Spidey so relatable was how he had to actually balance being a real person with a social life.. with being a superhero. He didn't have infinite funds, easily replaceable tech, indestructible gear, nor a stable consistent relationship with anyone, his lovelife was a mess and most often peter made himself a pariah as both the webhead and the reporter.

It wasn't him being a teen, a married man, these were just set dressings to the constant troubles life dished out to him just like the reader. People like the guy cause he was just like us, a person. Flawed, not perfect but not broken. When it rains, it pours and whatnot.
