The original ARR and some HW dungeons looked like they were trying to directly copy the WoW style of dungeon design. Everything after that feels like they copied the FFXIII dungeon design philosophy, where "dungeons" are just a long conveyor belt of enemies to mow down rather than an actual dungeon to explore or do shit in.
