I actually partially agree, I think anyone 21 and over should be able to carry their own handgun regardless of rank or AFSC (MOS/rate if you aren't AF) however we should still issue pistols because it's better for standardization, if everyone has the same weapon it's easier for example to toss your buddy an extra mag or part, but I think if you're issued a pistol than you carry that and keep your own personal weapon concealed and only use that if you're out of ammo or your issued weapon is out of commission.
