that scene where Rey runs in the desert and flips over the Tie Interceptor and chops of its wing is a good example of why the new Star Wars is terrible.

sure it looks neat. but one moment to think about it, and it flips to awful

why is Kylo Ren flying a regular Tie Interceptor instead of his cooler personal variant? (because they filmed the cool flip first, before they made the story)

um... the lightsaber can't cut through the wing like butter. there is precedent for that. a lot of it.

in the movie the scene is completely written after the fact. they wanted a cool moment for the trailer. that's it. they later wrote a scene where she literally wanders off on her own, to do a bad-ass flip, and the gang shrugs like "hey that was cool, now get back here so we can escape."

They should have been being chased, hopeless, etc... nope, she just wanted to show off.

(end of season 1 Mandalorian vs Tie Fighter was 10x better.)
