just remember being amazed a cartoon had an actual overall plot.
yeah we got some localised animes, but tuning into Pokemon or whatever it was just "oh this is before Ash caught Charmander."

didn't really care about watching these cartoons in order, and TV channels didn't care about SHOWING THEM in order.
