Why do people build AD Senna as a Support when you can do the same amount of damage but with more healing and shielding ???

Honestly AP items are so lacklustre there's really no other option other than Zhonya's. You might as well go for survivability.
Riot needs to add Crown of the Shattered Queen back though.
