There's a lot of reason to do so
Sometimes you want to knock them into their team or to ignite a wall in a better position for followup
The fact this bugs out so hard is absolutely a real winrate griefing thing

It's a bug that happens when people are standing exactly on top of terrain, the R will barely knock them anywhere
I have 0 idea why
But it's really easy to recreate in practice tool just put some dummies touching the wall and try to knock them off of it it's impossible.
You can put normal dummies 1 cm away too and the difference is crazy.
Basically if you need to hit the ult play it safe and aim it for the wall they're at.
