Probably because the alternative is just assuming that Masahiro Sakurai is a fucking illiterate dumbass commenting on Kid Icarus's English release for no reason at all, especially when he's not the kind of guy that randomly comments on the localizations for his other works. Completely mum on Kirby, doesn't have any known opinions on Super Smash Bros. localizations, said something about Kid Icarus. Even without taking it as word-of-God it's not hard or retarded to draw the conclusion that he liked the English version if he said anything about it at all.

I don't know why in any thread about localization, whenever a factoid about a Japanese dev liking an English version comes up, true or not, the assumption is the Japanese dev is actually just a drooling fucking idiot who doesn't know what he's reading.
