Yeah because in the UK, and pretty much everywhere else, democracy is proven to be a failed experiment. It is even more corrupt and exploitative than a feudal system.
In a feudal aristocracy, they nobility kept each other in an apparatus of checks and balances due to their own internal power brokering.
In a democracy, all the aristocracy work together to fuck over the poor and extort the working class as much as possible without outright killing them off.
At least in a feudal government there was decentralization that ensured the people of each region were being looked after by a noble with interests also tied to that region.
