In the Ultimania book, aside from the prologue shit written by Nojima you also have several other texts written in Rinoa PoV, and in some of them she talks about how she wants to be braver and stronger, like Squall, and says she will also be a lion like him.

The "Maybe I Am a Lion" isn't about Squall, but rather Rinoa/Ultimecia theme music.
