I inevitably decided to add a 1.5x base radius mod and lift build restrictions so I could build into the sea, and it was still just barely enough room since I care about pathing, which still seems to be a pocketpair work in progress. Smaller dedicated bases are much better for productivity, but that means a lot more breeding and condensing, and I do like to have that "main" base for keeping a wide variety of things (and less bases I need to remember to keep fed).
