There is a difference in "evil god" and satan who is just cartoonishly evil.
Evil God destroyed cities, stuck down people and tried to force his way upon his followers in the old testement. he even cursed an entire bloodline.
but over time, he realized he was not only incorrect but he was wrong, and he tried to undo the damage he caused.
Satan? Started as a good servant who then said "im better than this guy and I know better!", deceived humans into ruin, manipulated key events, lied constantly, was at war with his former angels in heaven, killed Jobs whole family and would've killed Job but God disallowed him from doing so.
And so much worse in modern times where Satan is bound to Earth right now because he was cast out of the heavens.
Satan never admits wrong or admits he fucked up. He is stubborn and proud and he will do whatever it takes.
Look at the world, the suffering, the mental torture and how fucked people are. Thats all Satans work, not God.
Its a giant Chess game where Satan and God try to disprove each other.
And we, unfortunately, have to take a side, one way or another.
