Despite the damage 06 did to Sonic, he still got a ton of stuff, it could have very killed the franchise, the only thing it killed was the type of credibility Sonic used to get on the same level as Mario and Zelda. 06 being bad is like if Mario Galaxy or Twilight Princess were bad, and this was next gen at the time too.
