>So let me get this absolutely straight.
Good idea.
>You're saying Euros don't worship the US by buying American cars and trucks, because those are too expensive in Europe.
Yes, though they often wish they could.
>Euros don't worship the US by getting tax benefits like Americans do either, because Eurodumbs don't get tax benefits for the cars they buy as a part of this "USA-worshipping".
Yes. Businesses here can't buy a Range Rover or a G-class and claim it as a deductible.
>But you're saying that buying a more expensive local car to show off is an exclusively American thing to do?
Nope, not simply "more expensive". For ages the de-facto status car here was a german sedan, either BMW or Mercedes. To the point our local manufacturers failed several times in trying to compete. But this shift from "I'm rich so I'll buy luxury sedan, a Mercedes or pic related if I can afford it, or a Citroen or Peugeot if I can't afford the formers" to "I'll buy a big SUV or truck, a Range Rover or a F150 if I can, else I'll settle for some Renault Kadjar or other shit". And this influence on tastes the US has here is by no means new. Hence the singer's CD I posted earlier: this guy made a whole career out of copying Johnny Cash.
