Mary and Paul are a middle-aged married couple from NC. Mary runs a small pastry shop while Paul works as a mechanic. They have five children, the youngest being college-age and other three having established families. When Paul and Mary aren't working, they will sometimes drive out to Peak National Forest, usually for day hikes.

They've never been caught going off-trail more than once.
