I feel like Mayoi really was the best way to fully open the series and set the mood. Very good choice for the first new oddity you are introduced too after Hitagi Crab establishes how they work. Nisio in general made good mood setting decisions when laying out the series early on. Kizu was another great example as it sort of showed how far the series was willing to go (maybe Nise also helped show how far sexually). A shame Shaft had to delay Kizu, although nice in other ways because the product we ended up getting may just be the greatest animated work of all time. He did kind of get bad at this over time as it became clear he wasn't sure where to take the series. Although he seems to be earnestly trying to fix it now. So far through the anime reorganization, it has worked well so far. A new solid narrative is forming. The future of Monogatari may just be as exciting as the past.

Considering the impunity of kike aerial attacks, it's dumb to try and "conceal" your capabilities instead of going all out in a devastating attack. It's not like the mid-way interceptions on Iraq and Syria will decrease over time
