Have strong nostalgia for this since it was one of the first games I played as a kid. The ancient PC we got from a neighbor ran it at half speed and every time I used the megabomb the screen shook and slowed it to a crawl for a good five seconds.
In retrospect it's pretty lackluster compared to Tyrian, but that's a pretty high bar to shoot for.

I know you're doing a bit but this kind of rabid elitism is why shmups remain such a stagnant genera. It's the equivalent of people screaming about modern first person shooters not conforming to the standards of Wolfenstine 3D.
