I recently added the constraint that you can only see people in the feed if they're looking for people of your gender.

I added it because some people were complaining they were getting unwanted messages, and other people were complaining they were getting too few messages. There's another rule which makes it less likely for you to appear in the feed if you've already messaged a new person recently. So I think that combination of rules will help more users get the right number of messages from the right people.

There's a few different rules though, and it's possible that you really aren't showing up for anybody. For example, there's an AI model which hides porn. It does an *okay* job, I think, but I still wish it were more accurate. Pic related would get filtered from the feed despite it clearly not being porn. Though only about 3 or 4% of pictures get filtered from the feed, false positive or not, so I think it's probably the gender thing, and you're likely showing up for other users.
