Why did Mouser throw bombs at you that could hurt him? Why did Tryclyde have a room full of mushroom blocks that caused him pain? Those bosses should have just hid in a dark room with no items and refused to use any attacks. You can't jump on them to kill them. They would only need to wait for you to die.
