I've always believed trying to frame Fallout's themes as a political statement was silly.
For sure you can see some things in the background involving politics but it's not exactly the main focus. The whole idea of Fallout was that pre-war America was gone, the survivors don't know exactly what that pre-war society was like, they're just living in the hollowed out corpse of that world.

Fallout seems to have lost that concept over the years unfortunately, when was the last time there were tribals even?
