To feed into my own autism, it'd explain the shadow crystals. The shadow crystals are showing you the recreated world, the one where it isn't Kris, but the vessel. It is why we see through Kris' hand (Kris doesn't exist in that world) Why Susie is cold to us (we never connect with Susie) Why Noelle is close to us whispering (Noelle would be our friend, we never drift apart like she does with Kris, plus maybe some snowgrave shit where we taint Noelle and she's bond to us across timelines)
