>Will we ever get a Tekken game that doesn’t focus on the Mishima family?
Impossible.
>Tekken 1 & 2
Fighting tournament hosted for control of the most powerful corporation on earth. It'd be the equivalent of the head of BlackRock being Bruce Lee (But a Bruce Lee who can beat up a bear) letting anyone on Earth enter for control of Blackrock.
>Tekken 3 Tournament goes away for 18 years, but comes back as cover for experiments Heihachi is running for the Devil gene, cryogenics, and the resurrection of an Aztect "God" who may be an extra terrestrial. Prize is still company ownership allegedly, but that gets complicated Paul canonically beat Ogre and leaves early to brag about winning, but technically did not win. Jin beats True Ogre but did not make it via rank so is not eligible for Company ownership.
>Tekken 4
Jin goes MIA and Kazuya has been MIA and the tournament is bait to bring them back. The corporation being the prize is kinda up for debate.
Story is convoluted and makes little sense.
>Tekken 5: Jinpachi is back from the grave. This would mean Mitzima Zibatsu corp would be still under his leadership as he was the old leader and not dead.... but that matters a lot less cause Apparently the secret ability of every Mishima is they can start up multinational conglomerates with ease. Now kazuya has Gcorp, Lee has Violet systems, etc.
>Tekken 6: now Jin has his own multinational conglomerate and kicks off WW3 using Tekken to kill the progenitor of the Devil Jin and force the world to be stronger through mass war.
If you are saying WTF how did we get from Karate CEOS letting people run a Blackrock type corporation if they lose a fighting tournament, to WW3 and rules that make no sense and no one even knowing what the prize of Tekken or how Tekken is declared, and it being pointless for the main players to even have a Tekken tournament cause they started spin off "Blackrock" companies.... yeah, we know.
Welcome to Tekken
