The biggest Oblivion UI mod from 2007 just made it more readable and usable on PC while keeping all the good fantasy theming, the second biggest one did the same thing except in a red leather theme, if the aesthetics were ever a problem they would be the first to go

There's no reason a fantasy game should have an UI like an iPhone
