If the goal of early Vegita and my boi Nappa coming to Earth at the behest of Frieza was to conquer and subjugate the planet, then why would Vegita agree to fight in an empty desert in the first place? Why would he care? Given his cocky and cruel early personality and the fact that he'd genocided previous civilizations without giving a shit at all and even laughing about it, wouldn't it have been more in character for Vegita at that point, to be spiteful and fuck up some city just because Goku wouldn't like it?
