Salt water is also how Earth is in general. Something precious and rare, but due to our high standards regarded very poorly. Also, salt water didn't ask to be consumed, and wasn't made for our comfort, so the interpretation that it's subpar as a consumption item is similar to how Earth is actually just here, not here for us. On the other hand, unlike salt water, I think Earth chan likes the role it found itself in. Though, I'm not sure to what degree a World can be said to like something.
