I want my laughs, not half-baked crybaby writing- and if you find that as stupid, blame the game trying to be funny while the story is about child-murder and parental neglect. Better Half otherwise has a lot more potential in storytelling too though, with the Thiu's potentially getting into much deeper subjects such as imposter syndrome, identity, and life generally. In short, I still like Chapter 1 about as much as Better Half, but the more the game gets developed the worst the end product seems. Had Better Half gotten similar attention, it would have gone in way more interesting directions I feel, and had the potential for the very best writing Nemlei could have ever done. Not like I enjoy putting chapter 3 down though, I really tried to enjoy it, but it just didn't spark with me as even just chapter 2, and let alone the tone and memorability of chapter 1. If nothing else, I did enjoy some of the fanart- especially early on. A shame I grew weary of a game I once loved endlessly, what I wouldn't do to relive those days, but I can still thank Nemlei for the rest of her catalogue, and all of her efforts for tryong anyway.

Being critical, I find it very difficult to not say that Better Half is just the better game overall, more so than me just liking it more. After all, I have sentimental value over chapter 1, but facts are facts. I really wished Nemlei's magic worked on me, but this was months in the making.
