I really really want a card game that has the depth of something like magic but it is NOT based around card collecting or constant expansions.

I feel like there's a lot of room for a digital only card game that's actually focused on solid balance and instead of constant expansions that power creep new cards, cards get balance patches and expansions give support for new deck types or w/e.

Hearthstone does do balancing but it still has retarded expansions, it has rotating cards, etc. I hate it. I hate magic because of the constant fucking expansions and card collecting and how many cards that come out are either draft chaft or the exact same effects as previous cards but either outright better, some bonus effect that is only there for draft relevancy, or in some cases a WORST version of a well known effect. Then the card collecting which stifles brewers who don't want to grind/pay out the ass. Real life costs also affect the game in a lot of various negative ways.

SHIT SUCKS and it COULD be improved but every competitive card game that comes out feels like it HAS to stick to these "standards". I feel like there's SO much you can do with the card format but nobody is interested in doing it and obviously im just one guy so I can't do it myself
