>Overall, how well do you think she was portrayed/written in the show?
Speaking only about the first 5 seasons, I'd say she was portrayed... okay. She's flanderized fairly often when she isn't the focal point of the episode. Dash unfortunately has a personality, that when exaggerated, can really get on a lot of people's nerves, which is why I think a lot of people have a strong hatred for her. Like that one flutterfag who said he hates Dash because she traded Fluttershy for a book. Yeah, that was a weak moment for her, but it's crazy for that one moment to be enough to make him hate the pony that defended his wife against bullies and supported her through her insecurities in Hurricane Fluttershy. Surely he doesn't actually hate her just because of that one scene unless its just autism. More likely he just hates Dash's personality, especially when it's being exaggerated like that for a laugh or cheap conflict, which is fair enough.
>What episodes do you consider to be the most definitive/representative of her personality?
Sonic Rainboom, Hurricane Fluttershy, Wonderbolts Academy, Sleepless, Read it and Weep, and Flight to the Finish all do a great job of showing her strengths and flaws.
>What episodes, if any, do you dislike the most, and why?
MMDW for exaggerating all of her flaws to a retarded degree. Her arrogance and her need for attention were dialed up to 100 without any of her usual nuance to balance it out.
Rainbow Falls for having the most forced conflict of all time. Seriously, Hurricane Fluttershy showed that there are a ton of pegasi who are considered Ponyville residents, so how is it possible they’re desperate enough to need Fluttershy and Bulk Biceps to perform in the aerial relay? Regardless, I don't find it believable that Dash would even consider betraying her friends or Ponyville for the Wonderbolts after Wonderbolts Academy. She already chose loyalty to herself and her friends over the position once, so why have her go through it again, and in a much worse way?
>Finally, and only if you feel comfortable answering, how similar would you consider your own personality to Rainbow's?
Eh, I've typed enough WORDSWORDSWORDS, and I'd rather not get into all that. It's more fun to talk about how awesome Rainbow is than to analyze myself anyway. I'd be curious to hear your thoughts on Rainbow at some point. I assume you're not the biggest fan of her.
