Going by the dialog between her, Brahne and Kuja it seems like the black mages were the one attacking the place primarily while Beatrix is there to lead the search for the king of Burmecia. You're basically proving my point by being unable to substantiate the claim of Beatrix killing anyone and simply relying on an assumption.
