Bright can't catch a break. This poor man. I should really read the novels but i really liked the audiobook that came with the bds for the movie

well I finished 0079 through hathaway movie 1. I was more looking for something that talks about what started the fighting and zeon vs zabi war. This seemed to fit the bill? So it doesn't really lead up to the start of the show but more of a parallel world?
per the second point of >>23418780 I felt that way at first. If you tried a bit of every series and it's not for you i wouldn't keep trying. I tried the non UC gundam +other mech shows big O or things like franxx and just wrote off the genre. I still am not a big fan of 0079 itself because i didn't like the vibe of the show and the pacing but adored zeta, liked gquacks. In the end i liked various points of each series and respected what they were going for. in the end what kept me interested in each series was characters like bright, kamille, and even in the origin which im watching not is the dynamics of kycilla+her family plus hamon and her romance[?] dynamics with ral. Char is a given just because you get a lot on him and it's fun to think about his trauma. I preefer the characters over the mechs. If you can't find one thing to connect on then maybe gundam itself just isn't suitable and you'll just frustrate yourself by continuing to feign interest in it
